Is it worth buying a box packed,unopened,unused(still new)Samsung IDE DVD writer for Rs.600 from my friend?

My friend bought a Samsung IDE DVD writer-Model:SH-S202(Super-Write Master,speedPlus,DVD+R20x-DVD-R20x-DVD RAM12x-Double Layer DVD+R12x-DVD-R12x) on 12th Jan 2008 and kept unused.Just opened and found,the box contains DVD Writer,Nero Express7 CD,Instruction manual,4 screws.Now he like to give me for Rs.600/.Thanks!

see i wud recommend 2 buy it.... but it cud b damaged..

so firstly check it.... that its working or not....

one more thing no fool sells a diamond for 1 or 2 penny .... so just check it...

and one more thing check d following things that it reads dvd n cd in 1st time....

dunno make much noise except the rotation of cd .....

so i think u shud buy it ....
